Feng Shui

Feng Shui is a Chinese millennial art of harmonizing not only the house energy but also the inhabitants' lives.

According to FS, the energy in your house or workplace reflects on your life in both a positive and a negative way.

There are many kinds of Chinese objects that people use to balance the energy in the living spaces by deploying this technique in their houses. However, I'm not adept at it. In my opinion, if the objects that I put inside my house don't represent anything to me, because of my culture or beliefs, they can't help me anyway.

I prefer to apply it as a whole by putting things including pictures, colors, materials, decoration objects and anything else related to all my dreams and goals in every room.

So that you have a better understanding of how experts usually place the Bagua (a Chinese drawing or tool) on the floor plan, have a look at the picture below:

The Bagua:

The Bagua on the floor plan:

As I said before, you can place the bagua on your floor plan and divide your house in 9 parts (eight sides and the center) or you can do like me.

How do I do?

First I think about each side of the bagua,
Then I set a goal for each one, and
Finally I start looking for information related to my goals as well as thinking of ways to get them (I mean, some action plans).

Piece of cake?
No, of course not.

Firstly, that's because most people know clearly what they don't want for their lives, but they are unclear about their wishes. When you know clearly what you want, you get started seeing things or signs related to your aims.

Secondly, some people start this practice thinking about impossible things. For example, if you want a car and you don't have none, think about a possible car, in other words, think about a price that fits in your pocket even in a long term perspective. Don't think on a Ferrari straight away to not be disappointed if you don't get it. After reaching your objectives, you may improve your dreams and wish something better and better.
Don't be all or nothing.

Lastly, use the five senses to be in touch with your dreams.
Seeing
Hearing
Smelling
Tasting
Touching
In other others, gathering as much information as you can on your dreams.

I call it "The law of attraction applied to Feng Shui". How about you? What's your opinion about that? How about creating your FENG SHUI WISH MAP? Think about it!

What dreams would you like to come true?
Choose only one dream for each side and replace it at each achievement.

The 9 sides:
1 - Wisdom / Knowledge
2 - Career / Job
3 - Travel / Friends
4 - Children / Projects
5 - Marriage  / Relationship
6 - Fame / Success
7 - Fortune / Wealth
8 - Family / Community
9 - Health / Center

Business Emails

Business emails are generally less formal than business letters. Business emails written to colleagues are generally direct and ask for specific actions to be taken. It's important to keep your business emails short as well as easy to be replied. Here are both formal and informal email examples and important points to remember when writing business emails in English.

Important Points to Remember

Email is much less formal than a written letter. Emails are usually short and concise.
ü   If you are writing to someone you don't know, a simple "Hello" is adequate. Using a salutation such as "Dear Mr Smith," is too formal.
ü   When writing to someone you know well, feel free to write as if you are speaking to the person.
ü  Include a telephone number to the signature of the email. This will give the recipient the chance to telephone if necessary.

Have a look at these tips on:
An unknown person / company:
How to begin: Dear Madam / Sir / To whom it may concern
How to finish: Yours truly / Truly yours / Yours faithfully

A person whose name you know:
How to begin: Dear Mr / Mrs / Ms Fisher
How to finish: Yours truly / Truly yours / Sincerely

A person you know in person:
How to begin: Dear Ann / John
How to finish: Best wishes / Best regards / All the best

Example 1: Formal
Hello,
I read on your web site that you offer Music CD copying for large quantities of CDs. I'd like to inquire about the procedures involved in these services. Are the files transferred online, or are the titles sent by CD to you by standard mail? How long does it usually take to produce approximately 500 copies? Are there any discounts on such a large quantity?
Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions. I look forward to your response.

Hi Tom,
Listen, we've been working on the Smith account and I was wondering if you could give me a hand? I need some inside information on recent developments over there. Do you think you could pass on any information you might have?
Thanks
